Uniting For Hope: To Help Flood Victim
Overall picture of the floods in Bangladesh from mid-August of this year 2024-
The eastern part of Bangladesh is experiencing one of the worst floods in the past 34 years.Over 5.6 million people have been affected by the floods. More than 2 million children are at risk due to their homes, schools, and villages being submerged. Over 71 (until September 6th) people have lost their lives and countless homes, roads, and agricultural land have been destroyed. Many people are displaced and in need of food, shelter, and other essential supplies. The situation is expected to worsen if the monsoon rains continue.

Tamjid is one of our beloved team members. He has been leading a team to rescue flood victims since August 21st. They participated in rescue operations for seven consecutive days in various unions of Feni and Lakshmipur districts in the Chittagong Division. In addition, they distributed water, water purification tablets, saline, and some dry food to the flood victims.
Objectives
Immediate Relief:
Distribute essential supplies such as food, water, cloth and hygiene kits to flood-affected families.Provide temporary shelter and accommodation to displaced individuals and communities.Establish medical camps to offer basic healthcare services and treatment to those in need.
Long-Term Rehabilitation:
Assist in the reconstruction of damaged homes and infrastructure. Provide educational support to children who have been displaced or had their education disrupted. Promote disaster preparedness and risk reduction measures to mitigate future flood impacts.
Community Engagement and Awareness:
We organize awareness campaigns to educate the public about flood prevention and early warning systems. Also collaborate with local government agencies and NGOs to ensure effective coordination and resource allocation.
Volunteer Activities
Relief Distribution: Assist in the packaging and distribution of relief supplies to affected areas.
Shelter Construction: Participate in building temporary shelters or repairing damaged homes.
Medical Support: Provide assistance at medical camps, including registration, triage, and patient care.
Awareness Campaigns: Help organize and conduct awareness programs on flood preparedness and safety.
Community Outreach: Engage with affected communities to understand their needs and provide support.
