HOPE After The Flood

HOPE After The Flood

Objectives: Ghuri providing long-term food assistance by supplying flood-affected families with enough non-perishable food items such as rice, lentils, oil, sugar, and flour to meet their food requirements for at least a month.

Ghuri Project Summary: In 2017, Ghuri youth organization pioneered a project called ‘HOPE After Flood’ to assist flood victims in Bangladesh. The entire project was managed through crowdfunding and collective contributions from all team members. Considering a minimum of five members per family, we created relief packages containing sufficient rice, lentils, oil, salt, sugar, and flour to feed a family for at least a month.

Subsequently, these packages were distributed to 300 families in Kanihara village, located on the banks of the Jamuna River in Islampur Upazila, Jamalpur district. To ensure an organized distribution process, we collaborated with local scouts.

In 2020, we took our #HopeAfterFlood mission to Kurigram disrict! A total of 450 food packages were distributed to families affected by flood.
