Youth: The Future Predictors

Elevate the future of Bangladesh through youth empowerment.

When it comes to choosing an organization dedicated to youth empowerment and community development, the Ghuri Youth Organization stands out as a key player in fostering positive change. Unlike other organizations, Ghuri is more than just a charity—it is a movement driven by the energy, passion, and commitment of young people eager to make a difference.

At Ghuri, we believe that empowering youth is the key to building a brighter future for the world. Our innovative programs, such as blood drives, emergency response teams for any national disasters, and environmental campaigns are designed to inspire young people to take active roles in their communities.

Ghuri focus on hands-on initiatives that build leadership skills, promote social responsibility, and encourage volunteering, providing the youth with opportunities to grow personally while contributing to the greater good.

We have taken a proactive approach by organizing a cohort of young people who are always ready to donate blood and save lives. This group of brave young people works like a human chain whenever anyone is in need of blood.

We have formed an emergency response team dedicated to serving the nation during times of crisis, such as floods and harsh winters. In flood times, we mobilize resources to provide essential aid to affected individuals. Our efforts include collecting necessary supplies, offering temporary shelter, and assisting in the rehabilitation process for those who have lost their homes.

During the winter season, we prioritize the well-being of underprivileged individuals, particularly those who earn a daily living under harsh conditions. We distribute warm clothing, like sweaters and blankets, to ensure their comfort and protection from the cold.

One of the most significant demonstration of effective emergency response team building was “During The COVID-19 pandemic in Bangladesh”. When our team played a crucial role. Due to the lockdown, many families faced financial hardship & job losses. That time, we distributed food supplies to 1500 such families for one months. Also, our volunteers assisted people in red zone areas by providing emergency services such as medicines & baby food.

Our youth, the future and fortune predictors of Bangladesh, are in need of good environment. To ensure that, very often we run a “Sohor Amar, Dayetto Amar” campaign during which we clean up a selective area where people go for natural refreshment.

We conduct our campaign throughout the year in different areas in the city. In addition, we encourage our cohort to keep their area clean and inspire others to do the same. This activity encourages the people to live in a society where everything is in order and keep the environment and nature alive.

As part of this campaign, we actively promote social awareness. Our initiatives focus on encouraging pedestrians to use sidewalks & foot over bridges for their safety. We organize wide range of activities including cycle rallies & street performance to raise public consciousness about these important issues.

Ghuri believe social bond is the key to a sound society. Considering the thought, every year we arrange several events like valentine’s day, 21st February as international mother language day, henna art on children’s hands during Ramadan, new clothes for Eid Festivals ; as an example, for “Valentine’s Day” we distribute roses & meals among the people around us. We distribute flowers to the rickshaw pullers, police, hawkers to spread the love and strengthen the bond. Throughout this event, we have a full day of fun-filled activities with street children. These include musical programs, dance, singing & recitation competitions.

Following our thought, we also arrange an event named “potho-fol-dol” where seasonal fruits are given to the people of every walk of life. We try to ensure everyone is having the seasonal fruits around us. The interesting part is, for the event named “potho-fol-dol” we don’t expect any fund from anyone but fruits. As an entry fee for this event, everyone brings different fruits according to their ability.

Moreover, after hearing about this project, many people joined us by sending fruits from different area of the country.

We are actively organizing tree planting drives in local parks, schools & public spaces in order to create a greener and better environment. We conduct ongoing workshops for young people & the community on topics like gardening and sustainability.

We host informal evening tea sessions in different neighborhoods. Over cups of tea, we discuss & raise awareness about the environment. We place a greater emphasis on nurturing existing trees, as opposed to just planting them.

Engagement in Debates:

Our “Engagement in Debates” program aims to foster a culture of open dialogue and critical thinking among the youth. Through a series of debate competitions, workshops, and public speaking events, we will encourage young people to engage with important social, political, and economic issues. This program will include:

Regional and National Debate Competitions: We will organize debate tournaments at both the regional and national levels, providing a platform for youth to express their opinions, develop arguments, and engage in constructive discussions.

Workshops on Debate and Public Speaking: To help participants improve their debating skills, we will conduct workshops led by experienced debate coaches and public speaking experts. These workshops will focus on building confidence, enhancing communication skills, and learning the art of persuasive argumentation.

Lead The Nation:

The “Lead the Nation” initiative is designed to inspire and prepare young people to take  leadership roles in their communities and beyond. This program will offer a series of interactive training sessions, mentorship opportunities, and real-life leadership experiences, focusing on:

Leadership Training Workshops: These workshops will cover essential topics such as strategic planning, decision-making, conflict resolution, and ethical leadership. Participants will learn from established leaders in various fields, including business, government, and non-profit organizations.

Community Leadership Projects:  Ghuri will encourage participants to design and implement their own community projects, allowing them to apply their leadership skills in real-world scenarios. These projects will address local issues, such as environmental conservation, social welfare, or public health, and will be supported by Team Ghuri through resources and mentorship.

Youth Leadership Summit: We plan to host an annual Youth Leadership Summit, bringing together aspiring young leaders from across Bangladesh to network, share experiences, and collaborate on solutions to the nation’s challenges.
